Today we are learning to … solve equations.
Work in pairs. You will need:
a) one set of balancing scales
b) 3 big calculators (TI-83 graphic calculators)
c) a ‘bunch’ of 10g and 5g weights
d) an A4 mini-board, pen and sponge
Your task:
Put the calculators on one side of the scales.
Put weights on the other side until it is balanced.
Write down the equation that the scales represent.
Use your scales to help you solve the equation.
Whatever you do something write it down (in a bubble) then write the solution.
